Taking the movement of waves on the ocean as inspiration, American designer Kelly Wearstler has created a hurricane lantern that brings a sense of drama to your garden or terrace. A tall handmade glass shade is held in a undulating ribbon of stainless steel that reflects the candle within, giving a sense of fluidity and lightness. The total effect is magical. Internationally famous and respected in the world of interiors, Kelly Wearstler was a natural choice to collaborate with Georg Jensen. The result is the FREQUENCY collection where she has captured the raw beauty of the Californian coast and transformed it into pieces that are sculptural and dramatic without losing a sense of Scandinavian cool. The FREQUENCY hurricane lantern is made from stainless steel with a mirror polished surface that encircles a hand made glass shade. The glass is frost proof and the lantern is suitable for outside use.

- "All stainless steel products are hand-polished, which is a rather time consuming process performed by only the most skilled craftsmen. 18/8 (13% chromium, 10% nickel, 72% steel). Georg Jensen’s stainless steel home décor, tableware and cutlery are all made of this quality. During the manufacturing process the quality of the steel –hardness, elasticity, ductility and tensile strength are controlled by varying the alloying elements and their distribution in the steel"
